Trying to find information on my irish grandparents CHRISTOPHER CARROLL & MARGERET O'ROURKE. I have there death dates but can't seem to find no further information about them or their parents & siblings
in Genealogy Help by
Could you please provide the death dates for each of them?

Many Irish records were lost to fire.
certainly sorry thought i did.(see below)

CHRISTOPHER. CARROLL died 1st JANUARY 2000

MARGERET CARROLL (nee O'ROURKE) died 10 DECEMBER 1973
Thanks, I had a look at this and found your other related posts.  Drafted a few trees to see if i could pick up leads. Have not found anything useful
This entry confused me when I was searching for records for you.  Read the toomstone for this burial at the Templeogue Cemetry, Templeogue, County Dublin, Ireland.  I think the Noel is Noel J Carroll and the Christopher was either Christopher A Carroll. The surviving brother may have been William Patrick Carroll.   Am confused by the word "bacon" with reference to her husband.  Was your grandparent "Christopher Bacon Carroll" ? Do you know? As this may make the search easier.

"In Loving memory of my Dear Wife Margaret Carrol, 4, Derry Road, Crumlin, died 10 December 1973 also her sons Noel and Christopher who died young and her husband Christopher Bacon died 1 January 2000"
There is an Irish Marriage entry from Christopher Carroll and Margaret O'Rourke in December 1942, Dublin South, Ireland, Vol 2, Page 389, FHL Film No. 101578

Christopher Carroll may have been born 26 March 1919, the son of Cornelius Carroll (18883-1962) and Catherine. If Cornelius Carroll is the correct father for Christopher Carroll, then Cornelius was born in Vallymount, County Wicklow, Ireland in 1883 and died on the 8th April 1962 (aged either 78 or 79) in Templeogue, County Dublin, Ireland. There is a further headstone in the Templeogue Cemetery https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/112679427 which reads;

"In Loving Memory of our dear parents, Cornelius Carroll, 8 Wellington Cottages, Templeogue. died 8th April 1962 and Catherine Carroll, died 30 December 1962, also their dear daughter Patricia died 23rd May 2005. RIP on whose souls sweet Jesus have mercy. Erected by their loving Family"

This indicates that your Christopher had at least one sister or half sister and her name was Patricia. The other Children listed as siblings at this entry were James and May, but no Christopher, its for that reason that i have doubt that Cornelius is the right father, however, I am not discounting this link, just saying that it requires further review to confirm. The death dates for these siblings look too late for Cornelius to be the correct father unless Christopher was the child from an earlier marriage

There is an Ireland, Civil Registration Birth Index, 1854-1958 for Noel J Carroll  December 1944 as the Child of O'Rourke, Dublin South, vol 2, page 773, FHL Film Number 101236

The is an Ireland, Civil Registration Birth Index, 1854-1958 for Christopher A Carroll March 1946 as the Child of O'Rourke, Dublin South, Ireland, Vol 2, page 780, FHL Film Number 101237

William Patrick Carroll b. 10 July 1948, Radcliffe, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. d.4 March 2012, Chester, Cheshire, England. Married June C McHugh in 1971.
Given names tend to be repeated as middle and first names down through history.

1691 - St. Michan, Dublin, Parish Register of Baptisms, page 301, b.1 October 1691, William son of Christopher Carroll, cooper, & Mary his wife.

1682 - St Michan, Dublin, Parish Register, page 141, b. 7 May 1682, Mary daughter of Christopher Carroll, cooper, & Mary his wife.

1841 Dublin Almanac and General Register of Ireland, Pettigrew and Oulton's Street Directory 1841, page 669 has the following entry;

"Henry Street -47 1/2 Christopher Carroll, carver, gilder, and looking-glass manufacturer"

1841 Dublin Almanac...Classification of Trades, page 812, "Rutland-Place, Green-lanes, Christopher Carroll, road contractor"

1739, Registry of Deeds, Dublin: Abstract of Wills, Vol I, 1708-1745. Entry at page 596 reads: "Warren, Christopher, Dublin, upholder, 26 March 1739. Narrate, 3/4p., 30 Feb 1739/40. His wife Elinor Warren, exor. His brother Patk. Warren, exor. His sister Mary Doyle also. Warren. His sister Rose Kean als. Warren, her husband. His brother Michael Warren, gent. His sister Mary Carter.  Walter Codd, Dublin, merchant, and his wife Catherine Codd. Mary Carroll, Dublin, wife of Christopher Carroll, her mother Mary Plunkett, widow....." Therefore one assumes that the maiden name for Mary is "Plunkett" like her mother.
Hi Amanda yes my grandad was known as bacon and my father was william patrick carroll. I also thought that my grandad may be the product from another marriage. My aunt's & uncles don't seem to want to talk about the family.
Hi Tony, that makes more sense.  From available records it appears to me that James, May and Patricia are the children of Cornelius (1883 to 1962) and Catherine (1888-1962) but Christopher (Bacon) Carroll was the son of this Cornelius and a Kathleen Redmond.  However, I am having difficulty verifying all this.

Have searched records for Christopher Bacon Carroll again but cannot locate any additional for Christopher B. Carroll.
Same here. I do know that my grandad worked in UK sometime between 1942 & 1948 as my dad was born in RADCLIFFE OXFORD OXFORDSHIRE but I don't know what his nature of work was or where he lived
Tony,

1)  do you know if Catherine Carroll was ever referred to as Catherine 'Kate' E. Carroll?
Yes that's correct Amanda plus my grandad had a brother called JOHN CARROLL as I met him at his funeral back in 2000

Hi Tony - am never sure whether I should use "Answer" or "Comment" when replying to these. - but I think "Answer" sends me your response when you reply and "Comment" does not. Thanks for your email.

I have come up at a dead end with searches for Margaret O'Rourke. Couple of questions though,

 Do you know if Margaret O'Rourke had a sister ?

Do you think Margaret may have been born in the North of England not in Ireland?
