Ann married into the Mozingo family, which has an interesting and culturally rich history. Ann married the grandson of the main subject in The Fiddler on Pantico Run: An African Warrior, His White Descendants, a Search for Family, authored by LA Times writer Joe Mozingo. Joe is also a descendant of Edward Ned Mozingo, like me, except more directly.
The difficulties we face with Ann's profile are:
- Ancestry.com is reporting a Hint that a marriage date and other confirmations are available. Any Ancestry.com paying subscribers who might be able to do the lookup to help us fill in some data holes (that might lead to even more clues, if we're lucky!)?
- At present, nothing has been confirmed or found on her parents. I used to think that this Ann was the same as Lt-Gen Thomas Pearce's daughter, but thanks to the kindness of strangers here, I got that de-linkage clear in my head.
- A possible relationship to Devil John (Bethea) needs to be ruled in or out. At present, he's married to a similar Anna Pearce who basically has no data in her record.
- Have I missed anything in scouring this profile, especially in terms of categorization? Oh, and if you happen upon any proofs for Pierce, the son (ca. 1745-1819), that would be gravy.
It's only Friday. Has the US Labor Day Holiday started, yet?
Thanks in advance,
7th great-grandson of The Fiddler
