Can a leader have a look at this profile please? [closed]

I came across this profile when I was noticing something about a profile so I was looking at the manager. It appears that he made profiles that are not there anymore. It appears that he hasn't been online since 2011. Can the profiles be opened so that someone can add sources, etc?

Quite a few of the profiles he contributed are open and available to work on. Is there a specific profile that you are concerned about?

I was looking at Wells-316  when I found this so if her and her family could be open, I appreciate that. She was born in 1838 so I'm sure there is atleast two or three or more generations that can be opened.

Submitted an open profile request based on marriage date and grandchild's birth in 1906.

The can be open if birth occured pre-Sep 1868.

Does that request go to WikiTree or to the profile manager? This is the first time I have come across something like this and would appreciate if you could point me to where the procedure is. I've searched Help and can't seem to find it.

If the profile meets the criteria for an open privacy (born 150+ years ago or died over 100 years ago:

• If the profile manager is not active or does not respond to your message you should use the Open profile request. This is found from the profile's Wiki-ID tab at the top of the screen. Scroll down to Open Profile Request. This will take you to another page where you should fill in the information that explains why this profile should be opened. Be as specific as possible to help the WikiTree team respond more quickly to your request. You will receive an email when the profile is open in order to correct any other errors.

In data doctoring, I submit Open Profile requests now and then. Sometimes there is no source and/or no dates on the profile, so when I submit, I include sources as proof. In this case I found a marriage doc and looked at children and grandchildren. Found a grandchild with a birth date of 1906. The rest had no dates. The team member that handles these will determine if the profile may be opened. I usually hear back within a day or two.

If you want to see what this looks like, find a green privacy profile and click the WikiID drop-down box in the upper right. You can scroll down and find the Open Profile Request and open it to check out the form.

Thanks so much for this information Natalie. I thought this would be something that I would have to send to the profile manager and I already know they haven't been active for 7 years. I once was going to do an unresponsive profile manager but then it said that I would take it as another profile. I definitely do not want to start managing non-related profiles.

No, this isn't the same as an unresponsive manager, but, like you point out, if you don't want to manage the profile, but you want to improve it, you can ask to have the profile opened. It must fit the requirements for it to be opened, though.

Just a note to say if you go the Unresponsive Profile Manager route and the profiles are opened and orphaned you are not required to adopt them. I use the procedure occasionally and will only adopt related profiles. This does not stop me working on ones I don't adopt.

I am John Hagan (www.hagan.me) John m Sarah Ann,. They had 2 children John (mEliza Well) and Benjamin - my gg father. I have been tested by FTDNA (Big y-700 > BY11733) and have contacted some family members but no male descendants.  I'm hoping we may be able to fil in some gaps for each other.

Yes, about half of the profiles are open. His watchlist holds 66, and some are unlisted.
