Anyone know the details of Blanche Vaught's death at age 3, 1898?

Thank you for your offer to help!   Blanche was the daughter of Ellsworth Preston Vaught and Emma C. Vaught.  She born in IA about 1895.  Her youngest brother, Milton, reported that she was lost at the state fair in Des Moines, and died 4 days later.  The date in the family Bible was recoreded as 9/2/1898.  There also seems to be a recorded dod of 2/9/1898.  Blanche was my great-aunt.  I tried a quick google search for obituary, grave. or death certificate but found nothing. I did check on the history of the IA state fair, and learned that it was not held in 1898.  The mystery deepens.  I was hoping that some descendants from other branches of the family might have some more information.  The next step might be to try and get a copy of the death certificate to find the exact details.

Thanks for the suggestion.  The source of the info is my late great uncle, Blanche's younger brother.  I found he death record at the IA Vital statistics office but the actual certificate is not available online so the cause of death is still a bit of a mystery.  Thanks for pointing me in the right directions.

To be able to help you, more information would be needed.  A country would be a start.  A good place to search would be local newspapers.  I have subscriptions to some newspapers, if they cover the area, I'm more than happy to have a search for you.
