This registration thread is closed. Please go to the current one to register.

September 28 - October 1 — the start of Family History Month — is our third annual "Source-a-Thon".

This three-day event is for a good cause (sourced genealogy!) and there will be over $3,000 in door prizes donated from around the genealogy community. It will be lots of fun.

The event will go from Friday, September 28 at 8 AM (ET) to Monday, October 1, 8 AM (ET).  Note: We've changed the start/end time from last year.

I would like to sign up for the annual Source-a-Thon.  Have previously been on the Virginia Team.  However, ast year, I sourced a lot in Minn/Wis because I only have resources where I can source back to 1850 Census and Virginia usually goes back lot further.   Put me where I can be of most use, or make me free-range, please.

Yes, I'd like to participate in the Source-a-Thon.  Not sure what team... I seem to be stuck in Mississippi as far as research goes but family runs from there through Texas/Arkansas/Michigan/Ohio.... then flip to other side and there is some Scotch/Irish....

No worries. I didn't see you had picked Acadia while I was making an offer. Busy Busy getting everything ready so our Storm can flatten the Acadia region. LOL Many groups are by areas you prefer to work, some are everywhere and most are a blend but tend to stay in certain areas. Western US doesn't really have any designated teams so it boils down to personal preference.

Hello Patty,
Your badge is the number you will use for the sourceathon.  You don't need to do anything with it.  It will just stay on your badge display page.  The number may be called during the thon for a door prize.  Then you have until the next drawing to reply for it.  Your name goes back into the pile if you don't claim your choice of prize.  Sign in on our team page with your name and number so we can help monitor the door prizes for the team.  Last year a member let me know my name was called and I chose a lovely teeshirt.

It's the display of badges on your own profile.  Go and have a look. 

You should see the Source-a-Thon 2018 on there.

Patty, on your own profile page there are some columns in the upper right
hand corner.  Second under the column labeled My Wikitree is the word badges.  Click on it and you will find them.  No worries!  We all have to start
somewhere some time.  That is what your teammates are for and we try
to be teachers for the new members. Next year you may be the one passing
on information to someone else.  Don't be afraid to ask.  We'll try to answer.
