Hi, Amber, and Welcome to WikiTree!

Amber, can you provide more specific information? Names and some dates would help. You’ve already given us the geography. Many thanks!
Pip,

you are a rockstar!! I am so glad i found this website. I am looking for Daniel Kenney born about 1784 in county cork, Ireland and died about 1864. I know he married in Cloyne parish in 13 Oct, 1804, I am sure the records hold his parents information and the parish records probably have more birth and death information for his wife also Mary Walsh B 1788 , died 1864, both dies same year which is weird. and his son also Daniel Kenney born 1810- died 1850 also his wife Bridget Riley around same and passed same year, i know entered a  poor house in 1850, from irish potatoe famine, but their children who were very young what happened to them? where they orphaned? sent somewhere?

Irish_roots

Thanks
Hi Amber! Here’s a trick to draw the right folks to your query. Click the edit button under your question, and go down to your tags. Add irish_roots to the tag your already have. That way, folks who have that expertise (Irish records) will take notice. Irish records are not my expertise, but there are folks here who are the true “rockers” when it comes to information in that area. Happy hunting!

Hi there! My ancestors are also from Cloyne Parish, but likely a different part than yours. I did some preliminary digging and found the marriage record that you mentioned from 1804. You can see the film here: https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000631895#page/1/mode/1up It's pretty near impossible to read, but it shows "Danl Kenny" and Mary "Welsh" on 13 Oct 1804. I think your ancestors were in Youghal, Cork, based on this record. There was also a workhouse in Youghal.

I'll let you know if I find anything else.

I will add that I also found a "Danl Kenny" and "Mary Walsh" marriage record in Youghal, Ireland on 7 May 1814.

This doesn't necessarily mean anything since there were often cousins of similar/same generations with the same names, especially Daniel or Mary. It is VERY complicated researching Irish genealogy at this time without some additional clues like siblings names or anecdotal stories or dates in a family bible because it's so hard to tease out which Daniel or Jeremiah or Mary or Cornelius or Patrick belongs to whom.  (This isn't to suggest giving up!)
