While I agree it is frustrating and we may never find the connection I do not see a need to do anything.  It is always possible that someone will find something and be able to add to the profile.

Jo, in the profile you linked to, you have a Research Note saying Ezra is "linked" to two other people.  How so?  The note doesn't indicate that the two have profiles, or define their relationship, but it does give birth and death dates.  And the wording seems to imply they could have been married and been the parents, but that doesn't seem possible if Mary died years before either David or Ezra was born.  Where does all that come from?  Wherever it came from would be a source, although it may not be a very valid or credible one.  But if there is something out there in the woods that leads you to believe this was a real person, you can say that is your source, and you can explain any doubts you have about it in the bio.  If it all just seems like fantasy-land, and it bothers you, you could just merge the profile away.

I edited the wording in the note.  I removed the probably incorrect parents.

Hello Jo, I have found a bit of info on Ezra Jewell Gill and he could be linked to David Gill because David's mother was Elizabeth Jewell married to Thomas Gill.  I will do some more searching.

I removed Mary Mann as mother and David Gill as father.  I couldn't prove it.  Jewell is the clue!
