I don't know your grandfather. However, I searched his name & location. There are 2 Thomas Nugents that show One born in 1892 & immigrated in 1920. The other is born in 1909. If your trying to research further into the past, have you checked immigration & departure records? Also, checking sites that specialize in Irish genealogy will help.

hi.  my grandparents were from villierstown, county waterford.  there was a thomas nugent, born in villierstown in 1901.  he married annie murphy in 1926.  thomas emigrated to canada in 1926.  annie emigrated to new york in 1927 with newborn son john, where the family reunited.

in the 1940 census, the family lived at 210 betts avenue in the bronx with children john, catherine (or cathleen), may, and anna.

if these are your grandparents, I would love to hear from you.  I was doing some genealogical research for a friend in ireland and they would like to know what happened to thomas and annie.  I never found a record of their deaths.
