I am looking for information on my great grandmother Louise Paine, born in Mechanic Falls, ME in 1918 (roughly). I have found that she was married at least 4 times, at least once to my great grandfather Alfred Franklin Quandt, once to a Nelson Horton, and once to an Archer in Indiana and once to a Towner (the Towner spouse is unknown, but when she married the archer, the marriage license lists her name as Louise Paine Towner, so it is an assumption that she married a Towner). My grandmother never had a relationship with her, so my father doesn't know much. I am hoping to find when/where she died.

I should've included in my original post that I have a significant amount of information on her family going back a few more generations on both her mother's side and her father's side. I have been able to find a good amount of info on her siblings as well. I am currently transferring my ancestry.com stuff into this site, so apologies for not stating that to begin with.

Here's a link to her Ancestry.com profile within my tree, there are several documents saved such as birth record, marriage record to my great grandfather Frank, as well as the marriage record for Nelson Horton and James Archer. https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/105287246/person/340044653397/facts

Her last known husband, James M. Archer, was substantially older than Louise, He was born in 1889.  It looks like he died in Florida in 1971. I would start tracing him at death and see if he was still married to Louise.
She is not listed in his obituary in the 11 August 1971 edition of the Tampa Bay Times, nor either (11 and 13 August) Tampa Tribune Seems he was living in Tampa at his sons house.
Thank you. I have actually found a substantial amount of information on her family, including her siblings, but haven't been able to transfer it all from my Ancestry.com account, although I am working through the GEDCOM. I have been spending a significant amount of time on her recently and have made progress (such as finding her marriages to Nelson C. Horton, and James Archer), but after her marriage to him I have hit a roadblock. I did find a Louise Paine grave in Florida I believe, but some of the information didn't match, I think I saved it to my shoebox though so I will re-check it.
Liz, where did you find this obit? Can you send me link??
Send me a PM and I can email - it’s James Archer’s and it was on Newspapers.com.
I am also researching Louise Marguerite Paine. What I found was the following: First Marriage 12-15-1934 to Alfred Franklin Quandt, Second Marriage 2-7-1942 to Nelson C. Horton, Third Marriage 8-11-1951 to Everett Cole. Now next is questionable: Fourth Marriage 1-5-1955 to Kenneth L. Swan. I also noticed that her last name on Marriage License to her possible Sixth Husband on 12-16-1955 to James Milton Archer was Towner.

More confusion than help. I haven't been able to find death record for her under any last married name. I also tried maiden name to no avail.

Please keep me posted if you do find out more about her.

Hi,

I've added a source for Louise and Alfred's marriage, as well as some information about Louise's father, as recorded on his WWI draft card. At age 25, Charles Paine registered for the draft in World War I in Mechanic Falls, Androscoggin, Maine. He had a wife and children, and his occupation was "stationery fireman"

I am a descendant of John Payne, who served in the American Revolution.  Those Payne's are challenging to trace!!

Hope this helps, Janine
