Active members who are Whiteheads may respond, but other than that we do not discuss living people on G2G for privacy reasons. You could try a search on the profile list and filter by location to see if any of those you are looking for are Wikitree members.
Sorry but I was just seeking help as all other avenues were dead ends.
What other avenues have you tried? If you are looking for a specific living Whitehead you could try 192.com.
No looking for anyone in particular. The last person I have in my family tree is a Simon Whitehead born about 1740 in Fife. married a Margaret Barclay..

FWIW. Over 50 years ago I read in a book, I think it was a history book, that During the reign of Edward the Confessor there lived a man named Roger who had a head of whitehair and to this day his descendants are called Whithead.

Not sure that I buy that as surnames did not become mandatory and passed on until the poll tax of 1377.

However Whitehead would not be a Scottish surname, but the name of an English transplant, perhaps in the wake of the Jacobin Rebellion and the battle of Culloden.

Thank you very much for the interesting information. Most helpful
There are many Whitehead lines originating from different men with white hair.
Of course. I believe I have mentioned previously that when surnames became heritable one of the criteria for assigning a surname was a physical characteristic like Whitehead.

I only made the comment in passing because I thought it was interesting, but then in the next sentence I negated it's efficacy.

There was no need to "correct me"
