I'm wondering if there is more than one Henry Washington Anderson.  You have a death date of 1855 and a source showing he served in the Civil War which started six years after his death.  The Find A Grave photo shows a fragmentary gravestone and I couldn't see a death date but it also gives 1855 as a death date.  Could the date be more like 1865 or later?  Otherwise there must be two people of the same name, perhaps an unidentified son?
Yes, there were several different Henry Washington Anderson's all in the same family.  This Henry W. Anderson was the first in this family, he had two sons and each named a child after their father,  The nephew was the one that fought in the Civil War.  I got that cleaned up, but the birth and death dats are correct.  Thanks for the heads up.  Any other ideas?
Don't know how much this will help since its from an Ancestry tree, bua quick look over there shows HWA with a Robert Anderson Jr. and Maria Thomas as his parents.  Can send you info on them if they aren't potential parents you've already disproven.

I agree with Art. Since you have him married to then his parents are Robert Anderson Jr. and Maria Thomas who are both already on Wikitree. And he did not have just two children he had several children.Let me know if you need more help.

Going to follow up on this information.  I think maybe HEnry had been married before Arthany?  We have not been able to find marriage record for them yet.   Thanks for the help.  I know on Ancestry PArthenia/Arthany is listed as also being an Anderson.  The marriage record for her was found in Pontotoc County, MS and John Waldrop maarried Mrs A Anderson.  To me Mrs. means she had been married. Her daughter California Waldrop said she was a Tutor.  I got her death certificate and my grand father gave the information on the death certificate, and it has don't know for both her parents name.  What a kicker.

Yes Louise Haplin, help me with the other children.  James and Ben were the two children thata were half brothers to California Waldrop, daughter of Parthenia/ARthany and John Waldrop.
Okay I will work on Parthenia and what's going on with her and all her marriages and children. I also saw just "1" record that I have to find again that did give the name of another wife, it was something like Pickens?? I'll be around for a couple of more hours.
Yes, I welcome any information on Partenia/Arthany Tutor Anderson Waldrop. See she is the other part of this brick wall. Would love to know where she and henry married and when. I know for certain that she died and is buried in Pontotoc County, MS in Gunn Cemetery.  I have a pic of her grave marker. Just haven't been able to document anything on Arthany prior to Pontotoc County, MS 1850 and 1860 Census. Wlould love to know parents and sisiblings of hers.

Do you have a different death date? Right now his death date 1855 is before his birth date 1868.

Thanks for the heads up on the birth date.  Post has now been edited. any ideas?
Have you had any progress yet? I am on ancestry and am getting all kind of records from family to land deeds. Also I'm fairly certain he was born in South Carolina and not Georgia. Since they are side by side maybe he was born near the border where for a while it was part of Georgia and later changed to South Carolina.
I am ready and in need of any help possible.  Several Census shows him and PArthenia/Arthany ???? both born in SC,  But in other census records it shows him born in Georgia.  We never knew who Arthany's parents were she was supposed to be a Tutor, but many claim she was an anderson.  When she married John Wadrop in Pontotoc County, MS, she is listed as Mrs. A. Anderson.  There are so many difference in opinions in the research.  I am going my way and  sourcing every thing pssible. That is why all this is important to verify and document.  Thanks.
Louise Halpin, You have been very helpful!! You are a gem!! Many thanks, and I hope we find more information!
Deborah, I'm so glad to be "a little help" to you. This one has sucked me right in. Arthany's and Henry's son Ben F one of his sons Elija married a Tutor and his daughter Vera in the 1910 Census lived with a Gaston and Mollie Tutor and is listed as a granddaughter. It definitely will be interesting to see where all of this gets us too! Hopefully the answers!
Oh Wow! this is exciting, something we have not been able to get past. Who Arthany's parents were!  When I found her in the 1850, and 1860 Census in Pontotoc, she always lived close by to Tutor Hosueholds, but they all came from  NC, not SC.
