MyHeritage supports 23andMe V5 and Living DNA uploads

From a MyHeritage release:

Recent improvements to our DNA algorithms allow us to support DNA data processed on GSA chips, and so we’re happy to update you that MyHeritage now supports 23andMe V5 and Living DNA data uploads, in addition to data uploads from all major DNA testing services, including Ancestry, 23andMe (up to V5) and Family Tree DNA (Family Finder).

If you adhere to the adage of fish in all ponds (and you should), this is something you'll want to consider doing.

MyHeritage DNA upload

Thanks for the heads-up, Kerry! Some more detail here:

In part: "As of December 1, 2018, our policy regarding DNA uploads will change: DNA Matching will remain free for uploaded DNA data, but unlocking additional DNA features (for example, ethnicity estimate, chromosome browser, and some others) will require an extra payment for DNA files uploaded after this date. We will announce the full details of the new policy once it is finalized, closer to December 1st. All DNA data that was uploaded to MyHeritage in the past, and all DNA data that is uploaded now and prior to December 1, 2018, will continue to enjoy full access to all DNA features for free. These uploads will be grandfathered in and will remain free."

Understandable that MyHeritage will go a similar way as FTDNA. I anticipate the fee after December 1 will be minimal, but still a fee. So if you've already tested elsewhere and want your data uploaded to MyHeritage, do it in the next 75 days and you'll be, er, free and clear.  smiley

Thanks for pointing out that important information Edison.  It's too bad, if not unexpected.  I manage tests on all of the sites and MyHeritage quickly became my favorite once they worked out the bugs.  Their triangulation tool is dead simple.  When I'm trying to get someone with an Ancestry DNA test to transfer it elsewhere, I first suggest MyHeritage because they make it so easy.

Free DNA Uploads — Deadline Extended!

"We have just extended our deadline for free DNA uploads to December 16, 2018."

Thanks for posting that, Lincoln. I've been urging some cousins to make certain they get their data uploaded to MyHeritage, but a couple have been...temporizing. Is that a reasonable euphemism for "procrastinating"?

How do I share DNA testing from MyHeritage to other sites, such as 23andme?

Neither 23andMe nor allow DNA uploads/transfers.  You can upload your MyHeritage test to GEDmatch and FTDNA:

First, you will need to download your MyHeritage raw DNA data file:
