Will you volunteer to write a history of the Fraser Clan of Scotland?

The Frazier_Name_Study is looking for someone who is knowledgeable about Scottish Clans, in particular about the Fraser Clan(s) in Scotland to write a history for the page. There is a heading for it -- but it is blank!!  The study is trying to track people with the Fraser surname, and its many variants, from Scotland and then outward.  I can connect other links, but a brief history on the main page would be wonderful!

Edit: Actually,  we are starting in the New World and working our way back to Scotland.

Careful.  Clan histories tend to dissolve if you look at them hard enough.
I could be wrong, RJ, but I think the Fraser Clan history is pretty well-established. More recent histores might be fiction.

Wikipedia has articles on two Fraser Clans. One is a low land clan (which is somewhat brief) and the other a highland clan (which is much longer). Paraphrasing the appropriate one, and making proper attribute, would be a start.

It would! I would love to have a volunteer to do that!
The WikiTree link that Maria provided has a lot of similarity to the Wikipedia page, but it is somewhat shorter.

Here's the Clan Fraser page from the Scottish Clans Project https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Clan_Fraser   I'll link it to your study page.

If you'd like to join the Scottish Clans Project just let me know !!  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Scottish_Clans

That will be great, Maria!  I have been planning to check that project out and link it to our study.  It will be a great resource.  Fraser is one of the actual Scottish Clans, and I think it is widely accepted that for the main part that the name Fraser originated in Scotland and spread from there to the other British Isles and Ireland, then onward from there. So, I think a connection with the Scottish Clans Project would be appropriate at some point.
Hi Edie,  sorry for the delay in welcoming you to the Scottish Clans Project !!  Been a hectic month for me.
I think Summer gets busy for all of us!  Thank you for the welcome, Maria!

I have been in contact about this to Clan Fraser. I am heavy into Clans but not of Clan Fraser. I was hoping they could join and help you best! I sent him this link. I explained about wikitree and how I love it! He was asking about what wikitree was about and he thought it was something like Wikipedia lol well, no! It is a great family tree one tree website. I am hoping you can get your best information from him and hoping that he also joins wikitree as he had no idea about it! I also explained how my YDNA is all linking up and the linking with familysearch etc. I do like this site and I am a member of Scottish Clans and hope we can get you more help for the Fraser Clan! :) I am sure he will be evaluating the website and possibly adding his tree and others from Clan Fraser!! Get those people in here!! That is the goal! He is David Fraser Chairman of CFAFC  of the Frasers of Lovat organization. Email fraser@idyllwildnow.com  and sounds pretty excited to learn about wikitree!

Why don't you start in Scotland?
answered by Norma Farnhell G2G2 (2.9k points)
Very simple, Norma, my research materials are here in the States. I wouldn't even know where to begin in Scotland. Connecting the branches is one of the goals of the project.  Unfortunately,  I am just one person.
It would be wonderful if you would join as a volunteer. I can use all the help I can get.
