ok to keep Van Couwenhoven for Neeltje married Vanderbilt? [closed]

It appears that Van Couwenhoven-1 is the only profile in WikiTree for Neeltje, born 1705, wife of Jacob Vanderbilt.

when standing alone, Van Couwenhoven (cap V) would be correct. When combined with first name, it would be lower case (van).

Unless someone objects, I'll set the Van Couwenhoven-1 profile as the final WikiTree ID for her.

p.s. let me know by Saturday (March 9), so I can make the change on the 10th.

see http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Van_Couwenhoven_Name too, although it doesn't apply (I don't think) to Neeltje.

No, I do not agree. Though it is a wild guess on my part I think the 'Van' would have been dropped by now, seeing that the rest of her siblings are all just 'Couwenhoven's. Also the remark that ' ... when the V from Van is combined with a first name, it should be wriiten with a lower case'  is not the American convention. Quite the opposite. As far s I know it should be written with a capital 'V'. Any baptismal or other records if not destroyed by now should prove the LNAB. And if it is with a Van, then that should be the LNAB in her case. The rest of her siblings should be assessed individually.
Philip - sorry! Could you start another g2g question, since this one was closed? include a link to this question & the profile. (or let me know when you've posted a new question & I'll add links for you when I'm next online). And sorry (2) - the lc v in combination was what I thought you'd told me: Neeltje van Couwenhoven or Van Couwenhoven. I misundstood that this convention didn't apply once they left the Netherlands for New Netherland.
