Looking NEHGS article on Kirkland/Kirtland in CT (or any other help!)

Hello:

I'm trying to validate/disentangle this Kirkland/Kirtland line.  Apparently there is an NEHGS article which may help. Kirtland or Kirkland Family, NEHGR 48:70

The initial problem is that Jerusha Bingham is married to two Samuel Bingham's, and it looks like its one of them is attached to the wrong generation of parents.  I think that can be resolved. (Parents corrected and profiles merged)

But then as a I started looking at some of the other attached profiles, I had trouble validating the rest of the tree.  Trying to determine:

  •  Which Daniel Kirtland married Lydia Perkins, and their children.
  • Which Daniel Kirtland married Abigail Knight, and their children.  And were their two couples with the same name?  There is a marriage record for 1771 in Sprague, CT and one in 1785 in Lisbon, CT.

Correcting that may lead to other problems, but thought I would start there.

I feel like I always run into problems in Connecticut! Am I the only one?

Thanks for any help.

The article you have listed has no information (that I saw) on either Daniel. It refers to another article in NEHGR, "The Kirtland Family in the United States" [https://www.americanancestors.org/databases/new-england-historical-and-genealogical-register/image?pageName=242&volumeId=11636 NEHGR 14:242] that has information as to Daniel (b in 1725 to father Daniel, b in 1701), but nothing further of the Daniels you mentioned.
Thanks.  Does it give a wife for Daniel b 1725?
No, it listed Daniel and his sibling's birth dates, but nothing further. The article you linked in your question says it only covered the first 3 generations of the family in North America, so it didn't include the Daniels you mentioned.
This book appears to duplicate the information from NEHGR. Not all pages are visible, but perhaps you could find another copy of it via another search engine: [https://books.google.com/books?id=k6fDl9gE45IC&pg=RA1-PA376&lpg=RA1-PA376#v=onepage&q&f=false "Genealogies from Connecticut Families"], published 1983. Daniel who married Mary Perkins is shown on page 386, along with their children.

If you go to an LDS Family History Center you will be able to download and save this article. This is available through one of the premium websites for which there is free access. Some public libraries have subscriptions to these as well.
