Have you registered for the Source-a-Thon yet? (4) [closed]

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED!

September 28 - October 1 — the start of Family History Month — is our third annual "Source-a-Thon".

This three-day event is for a good cause (sourced genealogy!) and there will be over $3,000 in door prizes donated from around the genealogy community. It will be lots of fun.

The event will go from Friday, September 28 at 8 AM (ET) to Monday, October 1, 8 AM (ET).  Note: We've changed the start/end time from last year.

Hi, I'm new to WikiTree and still finding my way around* as it's very different to any of the other sites I've used, but if I can work it out in the next day or so, I'm game! I've spent many a night on research marathons and am pretty dogged and thorough.

My ancestors are mainly from the UK - (so far) Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire & Yorkshire - and Kenya and South Africa.

*I haven't got that far, having uploaded my GEDCOM and discovered I still need to add all my family members individually... looks worth it, though!

Oh, it's worth it, Saffron.  Here, we pride ourselves on our collaborations, friendliness, and attention to good sourcing. It is quite the community and you are wonderful for volunteering to help with the health of our shared tree so soon.   There are a couple of England-based teams, but you are welcome to join the Mid-Atlantic US Team since we are sourcing everywhere that needs it.  These are our links:

Hello and thank you for your swift and friendly reply! I may well join you, but it's 02:30 in the UK right now and the UK-based teams may have commented by the time I get up so I may wait to see their responses.

As it is still before the deadline, does my previous Answer (as opposed to Reply - I think I did it correctly?!) count as my registration or do I need to join a team before the deadline of midnight EDT before I am 'registered'?

All you have do is post here, I want to join the Windsor Warriors for example.  There really isn't an approval process - you get to pick your team since I don't think either is full.

I've been informed that during my sleep I have joined the Sandringham Strollers, which, having read of their relaxed approach, may well be the best team for an enthusiastic but confused newbie trying to get to grips with the system :D Apologies if I am more of a hindrance than a help at first....

I shall check out the guidance and tutorials - then bring on the Source-a-Thon!
