What is the correct LNAB for Viscounts Garnock?

I've come across the profile of the profile of the 1st Viscount Garnock while I was cleaning merged profiles and I'm not sure what his correct LNAB should be.

Balfour Paul's Scots Peerage at https://archive.org/stream/scotspeeragefoun04pauluoft#page/174/mode/2up has the family listed as Lindsay, Viscount Garnock but then goes on to say that his father "assumed the surname and arms of Crawfurd of Kilbirnie"  I don't have access to the relevant volume of Cokayne - can any experts help please?

CP 2nd ed v.5 pp. 622-3  I'd go with "Lindsay-Crawford" except the 1st Visc. was John Crawford (otherwise Lindsay-Crawford) of Kilbirnie, co. Ayr. CP doesn't explain when/why he changed his surname but his father was Patrick Crawford formerly Lindsay, 2nd son of John 17th earl of Crawford and 1st Earl of Lindsay, who m. Margaret Crawford, co-hrss of Sir John Crawford of Kilbirnie.

To be in line to inherit the title Earl of Lindsay the patent has "heirs male bearing the name and arms of Lindsay", my guess is that had something to do with it.

John Crawford Lindsay-Crawford of Kilbirnie 1st Viscount Mount-Crawford Garnock is what I surmised, but I'm glad we have the fallback of Cracrofts' authority. Bonus? Another reference for the profile if you didn't already have it.
