I am searching for my father but it is a strange case, he has some relation to Edford Arlen Johnson of Illinois. I did a DNA test which connected me to the family, my birth mother was Carole Jane Phipps , here is where it gets really weird, I was born in Troy all I can tell anyone is that dna says "Johnson" as father but I do know that many Johnson men were a bit less than loyal, and I was conceived in 1960 in Illinois then she went to NY to have me I guess. that's all the info I have.

Did you identify Edford Arlen Johnson based on DNA matches? According to his Wikitree profile, Edford was born in 1914. If you match grandchildren of his as a cousin, then your biological father must've been one of his sons. The 1940 census shows that Edford and his wife Hildreth have one son, Jerry. I do not know if they had any more as the 1950 census has not been released yet.

Edit: I see you created a profile for Edford. It appears he already has a Wikitree profile: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Johnson-63512

Yes Edford shows with my dna matches and Edford does have another son who via dna is either half brother or uncle however brother jerry couldn't be my father for a few reasons my dna match to Jerry's daughters shows 1st cousins.
