My wife is a Crawford. I traced her paternal line back to a Zachariah (b: abt. 1795) in Port Republic, Rockingham County, VA. There were apparently 3 Zachariah's alive in that era, an Uncle to my Zach and a nephew to my Zach. I think that his father might have been Martin Crawford (listed in the 1810 Census (with Daughter Elizabeth McDaniel right below Martin, and Zachariah right be low her). Anyone have any info regarding Zachariah or the possibility of Martin being his father (or Martin also being called by another name?)?
I have a marriage certificate from Frederick County, VA where he marries his third wife Mary A G/Ross (nee Beatley?) and it lists his parents as Marshall and Susannah - but I half wonder if That's correct... or is Marshall was also called Martin?
