Plagerism question

A edit was made to a profile I manage and it is word for word from a Findagrave memorial. Is this allowable? I'm not going to give the profile ID as that would be calling out the editor lol

Nope, it should be rewritten and/or paraphrased.

You could ask the contributor to rewrite it.  If they don't you could rewrite it yourself and/or take it down in the interim.

Tina, I agree with SJ, but the question is whether the content is original work by the Find A Grave contributor or prior plagiarism.  I've seen a bunch of those memorials where an obituary was lifted from a newspaper or a funeral home web site and not attributed.  If you are able to find the important data in the writeup elsewhere, you may be able to use the factual content and attribute it to some other valid source, or you may be able to quote significant sections (not an entire article) without violating any rules, as long as you credit the place where you actually got it.
