Which Moses Fink is his father? Is he connected to the GFR?

According to Simon's marriage record, his father is Moses Fink. I am somewhat doubtful that his father is [[Fink-766|Moses Fink]]. Any ideas on if his father was indeed this Moses Fink, or if this line is a wholely different Fink line?

I am wondering why you think that Simon's father was wrongly listed on his marriage record to Ida? It could be that Simon was named after his father and Moses was a middle name of his father. Simon may have used Moses to differentiate between him and his father. This is an opinion, and I may be mistaken.

Thanks Mary. I don't doubt that his father's name was Moses (or had Moses in his name). I just don't know if his father is Moses Fink (Fink-766) as I have not seen any other information as to his father's identity or that he was part of this family. I do have a strong suspicion that he is connected in some way, just cannot find collateral information to support that.
Hi Folks,

I just found this site! This Simon Fink was my great-grandfather! Ida (Silverman), my great-grandmother. I will add info of my own soon. I've been in contact with Lisa Grayson in the past, and while we agree it's uncanny that our Finks have so many names in common, yet we don't believe there's a relation there. Maybe there is, after all.. or others!?

Please feel to be in contact, if you see some familial connection here!

Thanks and best,

Chuck Fink
i'm not sure who/what fink 766 is, but i am also researching the fink/miller (rebecca fink miller - my great grandmother) family -  does anyone know the name of simon and rebecca fink's brother?  simon was born in 1865 and rebecca in 1875.  their parents were morris/moses fink and sara/annie (sore chane) - all born in russia and emigrated to the usa in 1880's and 1890's.  except the brother who was "drafted" into the russian army - he was probably the oldest sibling born about 1863.

any info on sara annie fink's maiden name?

thanks and please feel free to contact me or see our fink/miller family history group on facebook!

Boy, it sure seems like he could be, but without more information, I agree, it remains doubtful. I looked really quick at Geni to see if anyone there had Simon attached to anyone, but they didn't. The numbers all work, as do the names, obviously. For now, I would put something like, "Simon may be the son of Moses and Sarah Fink (putting their links in) but more information is needed to say yes or no". If we could find an obituary or birth record, it would say a lot more. I hate when they just put Moses and Sarah Fink, rather than listing the mother's maiden name!

Agreed. After looking at this fresh, I have even more doubt. In 1870, Simon would be about 8 (based on the 1900 census birth year), soI would expect he would show up with his parents, but ony Meyer is listed with Moses and Sarah in the household.
