Hi.  I just stumbled upon your site and LOVE the idea.

I'll try not to make too many mistakes as I familiarize myself with how WikiTree works.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or tips.

I have been researching for over 25 years.

I'm currently reading the Help list for how to load my GEDCOM and link it to my name so I don't have to add each person individually.  :-)

Now I think I need to read about points and new tags.  ???

I'm pretty new here myself but some things to keep in mind.

  • Stay in contact with your greeter - they are great resources.
  • If in doubt ask a question in G2G.
  • Go through the basic certifications especially the Honor Code and if you have lots of ancestors from before 1700AD the Pre-1700 certification.
  • Pick a project like New Netherland and dive in.
Remember the golden rule at Wikitree is genealogy without documentation is mythology.
Welcome aboard and have fun.
