Jo, can you give a generalized date this photo might have been taken?
Early 1900s is my guess.  Elmon was born in 1870, his youngest child in 1925.  The woman standing on the left is wearing a flapper-like dress, so 1920s.  Some of the women have very 1920s hair styles.
Excellent Family photo treasure!
I'm going to guess 1920's also.
When you said family picture. you sure meant the entire family. Thank you for sharing your family and this precious moment with us.

I'd say its a 1920's photo:

A 2nd cousin of mine has a huge box full of our family photos.  You see a LOT of photos from the 1920's - people had disposable income and the Kodak box camera could be had for not too much money.  People took photos and developed them.

And then the 1930's came.  All of the snapshots cease.  There are occasional family group photos but the volume of photos dropped more than 90%

In this photo, everyone appears to have on relatively new clothes, the children look well fed - a stark contrast to a photo that might be taken in the 30's.

There was a red bead necklace in the family.  I've seen it on three different individual photos. The tall woman in the kneeling row is wearing it.

This message is in my gmail inbox, but it doesn't show in this G2G thread.  I'd like to take Phelps-3330 up on the photo improvement offer.

Excellent Family photo treasure! Have you considered messing with the light? I wouldn't mind downloading and doing it for you -nothing big, no photoshop, just the contrast and fill light.

What an amazing picture of the Staggs family. It is wonderful that they were able to get everyone together to take this picture.

I think I counted 41 people in this picture. That was great organization.

Congratulations on owning this magnificent picture.

God Bless!
