Why does it not show that John Allan b. ca 1834 inherited the Y chromosome that Alistair Stephen Allan has?

Linda, it seems that John's profile was created today. You may have to wait a day for the database to update and the YDNA results to appear on John's profile.

Hi Linda! Welcome to WikiTree!  Thank you for your question.  I'm not sure i totally understand the question. Are you asking about the test results, or about a functionality in WikiTree?  Maybe about why you are not listed as a potential DNA Connection on John Allen's profile?  That feature updates about once every 24 hours, i believe.  If you check back in 24 -48 hours, i think you will find that it has populated and you will be shown as a potential DNA connection.

Also when you check back, i think you will find that the fact that Alistair has taken a Y-DNA test will be noted on John Allen's profile.  I believe that the range is 8 birth events both high and wide, so all the males in that range will have a note about Alistair's Y-DNA test.  If new profiles are created that are inside that range, it will take 24 to 48 hours for the note to populate to the new profile.

Thanks for including the profile when asking a question - that always helps!  Otherwise i would not have known that you have a Y-DNA test that applies to that profile, and i would not have seen that you are familiar with how this works, having also tested the mtDNA for your maternal line and linked it on WikiTree.  So it really helps!

Regards

I am asking about wikitree. I want the results of Alistair Allan's Y chromosome test to show on each male ancestor that I link to up the line. It links to his father and grandfather but not great-grandfather. WHY? And what can I do to make it show/
It just needs the system to do its daily update.  At that time, new profiles will get the DNA info that applies to them.
