Could I please ask help of pre-1500 Certified genealogists to look at this profile.
I found the following information online (see reference in profile).
The first lord Richard Talbot came to Malahide in 1170, in the reign of Henry II. Talbot’s lordship of Malahide was confirmed by the King's son, Prince John, later to become King of England. Also confirmed on Richard was the Advowson for the Church of Malahide and when he died in 1193, he presented his brother, Walter Talbot with that benefice.
However his profile says he was born in 1150 and died in 1262. Whereas the statement above says he died in 1170. I wondered if the statement referred to his father also Richard [[Talbot-541|Richard Talbot]] but his profile shows him born c1122 and died before 25 Dec 1175.
There is nothing in either profile supporting birth or death dates. Reading through the Talbot Documents website where I sourced the statement is a bit confusing but I’m working through it slowly to glean the genealogy content and relationships.
Is it ok to put the statement in as I’ve done or should it be a research note? What should I do about the conflicting death dates?
