Lorenzo Dow Pearce was born March 28, 1909, in Tennessee. He enlisted in the Confederate Army on October 17, 1861, in Camden, Arkansas. Rank=Corporal, 15th Regiment Company B Infantry. He was captured Feb. 16, 1862, at Fort Donelson, Tennessee, sent to MP Camp Butler, Illinois. On Sept. 23, 1862, sent to Vicksburg, Mississippi where he died. His widow Nancy Beavers Pearce filed a claim on December  23, 1862. I have done a biography on paper but need this information to complete it & transfer to his profile. Thank you

No Nancy that isn't him. He died during the Civil War. Thank you for taking the time to look it up. The family information you found is correct & again Thank, You,

I know that you said that he died in the civil war, but there is no one buried with those dates that is named Lorenzo Dow Pearce. I even put the name in as Pierce,  maybe it is spelled differently, I don't know.  But I am going to my genealogy center today and I will look into Vicksburg Mississippi and see what I can find on Lorenzo.  Let's hope that he is buried there, But if I cannot find him then what?  I am sure that If I can't find him, maybe my director can.  Thanks, Nancy. I will also try to find his parents.

Sometimes he went by L D Pearce. Thank You

I did look under L.D. Pearce and found this:  L. D. Pearce - Find a grave memorial # 98021584

Pvt. Ludlow D. Pearce - 47109744  Look at both of these and tell me what you think. I know they are probably not his, But I did try.  But You would know more of the family then I would.

I went to my genealogy center today and found this  in Vicksburg, Mississippi..  Vicksburg had a book from the Fisher Funeral Home Records,  1860 - 1865.  And at the back of this book that listed Unknow Confederate soldiers, and other people who are unknown., You said that he was sent to Vicksburg, Ms after leaving Illinois, and then he died and his widow filed a claim I believe,  Well you will have to see these papers in order to know if this is indeed one that could be him.  Since he doesn't come up with his name, Then one of these gentleman could be him. So if you would like these papers then let me know thru email.

I really want to thank you for all the effort you have put into this search for me, Nancy.
