Duplicate spouses after a merge

While working on my gedcompare report I found 5 lots of clear duplicate profiles, for which I instigated a merge, they are all related. I completed one merge after it was approved, and ended up with 2 duplicates of the spouse on the completed merge, as expected. The spouse is one of the other pending merges, which will be done once approved by the PMs or by default.

I wondered if one of the spouses should be disconnected, or just wait for the spouse's merge to happen? I did in fact disconnect it & then thought that might be wrong so added it back in again.

Hi Margaret

You did the right thing to add the spouse back again. It is better to keep them connected until the merge is completed. It is a good indicator of why there is a merge proposal.

Thank you, good to know my reasoning was correct. smiley
