Bogaert-161 and Cornelisz-125 are both protected profiles of Jannetje Cornelisse (Bogaert) Van Alstyne having similar birth and death locations, same father and mother, and same husband.  They were both born in New Netherlands, obviously.

The merge needs to take place, but I can't do it as I do not manage the PPP profiles.

I think you re pretty right at this merge. Leaders and projects are always careful at merging as merges are not revearsable. Just doing if they are 110!!% sure.laugh

PPP's are meant to protect profiles David as you probably know. In former times vandals were able to do harm to profiles. So please do not feel wrong you can not work free on those profiles.

Someone of the New_Netherlands Project has to look into this. If you do not get a reaction please contact a leader of The New Netherlands Project you can find them at the the right top at your own profile under "Find".

If you hoover it with your mouse a dropdown menu will show you "Projects". Chose New_Netherlands Project. :) You tagged them in your message so you might have an answer too soon. We all have a real live as we are all volunteers here too and having a real life taking time.

Great found David!

Thank you!

A.

Our leader is super busy with real life presently - and I am deeply into another line sorting and fixing presently but I assure you this will be checked and merged as soon as someone has a bit of time - please be patient and sorry for the delay

As Navarro noted,  I am severely busy and I have been trying to stay away from WikiTree. However, I did complete the merge.

For background: Those two profiles were both protected over a year ago in order to prevent them from being merged until (1) the correct LNAB was determined (all too often when a New Netherland has multiple profiles with different LNABs, we find that none of them have the correct LNAB; settling the LNAB before merging cuts down on problematic redirects that would be needed if we picked a name arbitrarily) and (2) conflicting profiles for the parents were reconciled. Since the parents were born in the Netherlands, that required a G2G post to coordinate with the Dutch Roots project (see https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/457941/netherland-settler-merge-bogaert-cornelis-cornelisz-bogaert ). Carrie Quackenbush completed the merge of the father's multiple profiles at a time when she was winding down her work in the NNS project, and she didn't continue to work down through the generations.

Much of the content in Jannetje's profiles came from questionable sources. There are good sources for baptisms of children born after 1683 (when Albany records commenced), but it's not clear where the earlier information originated.
