Any tips for working unconnected profiles/trees?

I've been trying to work on one of the unconnected profiles I manage that has the most connections. Due to a merge within the last 24 hours, this profile has 100 connections, which I believe is great progress. (I neglected to note the # of connections prior to the merge.)

While browsing WT for tips/ideas on how to effectively work these unconnecteds, I came across the following page. Is this obsolete? If not, is it generated automatically or must trees of interest be added manually one by one?

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Global_Family_Reunion/Unconnected_Trees

Finally, is there a list of tips/tricks for working unconnecteds somewhere? If not, may we brainstorm some here?

In case you're interested, I'll link the profile referred to above to this post. My real intent though is tips/tricks in general for possibly making some progress in this area.

You may already have come across it, but there are a number of useful tips on https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Connectors_Chat#Hints_and_Tips

Thank you, Paul. I had seen that page at one point over the last few weeks, but not recently. Probably of the suggestions there what I need to do is more building sideways and down rather than primarily thinking about building upwards/back in time. I think that may be how I finally figured out the merge request I put in yesterday that moved this one profile along a bit.
That's one of the tips, yes. There are several others.
