If you have spent some time on WikiTree and understand DNA and the way DNA works on WikiTree we would love to have you as part of our DNA Project!

The overall goals of the project are to develop WikiTree's integrated of DNA test information, find ways to expand the usage of genealogical DNA on WikiTree, educate members on how to use all our awesome DNA features/tools, and network with genetic genealogists outside of WikiTree.

If you're interested in participating, we have two sub-projects at the moment for you to join.

  1. The Innovators - this sub-project is focused on developing and improving DNA Tools as well as networking outside of WikiTree.
  2. The Educators - this sub-project is focused on developing DNA help pages and helping members learn how to use the current DNA tools.

And the main page project is here

Please read the pages above to determine which sub-project you might be interested in and then post below as to which one(s) you might want to join, and how you might see yourself being involved.

Once you've posted we'll be in touch. Thanks!

I have already answered a little bit here:

And I am member of "WikiTree's DNA Innovators Project" Google Group to collaborate/discuss.

So the "The Innovators" sub-project would be right one for me.

I would like to first mainly just follow and observe best practices used in this WikiTree project; read messages and so on.

Because my backgroud is both from biology and information technology I hope I would have something to give, every now and then.

So, it would be very delightful to be full member of the DNA project.

Regards from Finland, Heikki.

I would like to join the DNA Project. The Innovators subproject would be the preferred area. Since I'm also involved in the Category Project, I could help out in that area.

Did this get missed? I'm currently working on a couple of DNA projects for my personal research and recently completed an advanced DNA methodology course at SLIG2019. As a compulsive researcher, I'm learning all I can about the topic. A side note learned at SLIG, the upcoming release of the revised BCG Genealogy Standards incorporates DNA wherever relevant and will no longer be a "add on". It will jus be part of doing genealogy.
