Work-outs on proofs... too soon to name descendant Condi Rice in profile? Why so many parents from which to choose?

+5 votes

It's going to take me a minute to work this line to ensure that all of the linkages have proof (if not, I may have to skip completing the line), but I went ahead and noted in the Bio that a recent and living, former US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice* is a descendant; unless it is best not to mention that she's in this line until such time as the descent is built out?

This profile was the first significant Rice that I came across, and it's clear from what has come up that only in recent years, some record archives have been made accessible.

I also worked another live one, Dick Cheney's line, and noticed that others described direct descendant ancestors. Either way, it's fun to do the work on the line, even though I would never agree with most any GOP position. That's what I like about genealogy: facts are virtually immutable here.

One thing that is definitely wrong is too wide a variance in parents. Suggestions on how best to rule in or out?

Work out pedigree (all dates are approximate):

  • A couple of census years have matched. He is also mentioned in the death record of one of his sons.
