Please review the spouses and children for this profile on Richard Smith.

I inserted an abbreviated version of his will and there is no mention of some children who are listed as having outlived him.  Daughter Joan was mentioned as dec'd.  Need to merge the two Joans.

Interesting bio - I was especially surprised to see his dealings with New Amsterdam and think the court records mentioned should be found to bolster this profile - looks like the wives and children need a lot of work - good luck with that

There are problems, The profile seems to be confused. It doesn't help that there are so many Richard Smiths. Savage lists 13. Anderson lists 5. Wikitree has oodles. I'll do some sorting out.

One of Savage's friends noted: Sylvester Judd, concluded, that the Richard Smiths are more confus. than the John S.

This is clearly a case of previous bad merges.

I'm reviewing the TAG article which clearly states that Richard Smith of Naragansett was originally of Gloucestershire (citing Roger Williams' statement about Richard), and married in Thornbury, Joan Barton.

I've added a few details and cleaned up this Richard's profile a bit. (Will also clean up Joan's.)

I've edited the profile narrative of Smith-8962 to be the Narragansett man.

He needs to be detached from the parents there, and also detached from wife Elizabeth. His only known wife was Joan Barton, although he might have married late in life the widow Mary (____) Chester. Roger Williams wrote that he "might have her".
