A Domesday line with no barons

I thought it might be of general interest to note that I was able to link up a line from Domesday Book 1086 to the present which involved no barons, and is in fact an Anglo-Saxon line.

Colgrim of Grantham, ancestor of the Ingoldsbys, was in fact somehow able to hold most of his 1066 lands and still be in them in 1086, without being a money lender or major warlord.

I am guessing no other online tree has done this one, but it is a subject of academic discussion. I think more generally there is much more a wiki can do for medieval genealogy, more than any other website has done, and we should aim to show that.

I think the idea of letting the pre-1500 zone work a bit differently is working, but can be taken further.
