How to deal with a name change?

Hello, I just signed up to Wikitree and in the process of editing my own profile I noticed that there wasn't an option to list your first name at birth. At the risk of getting too personal; I legally changed my first and middle names as well as my gender marker when I was 18 years old. Any records of my vital statistics before then list me under a different name and as a female. What is the best way to ensure that these records remain linked to my current and future records?

Cecil Welcome to Wikitree!  One of the experts will have to tell you how to get your first name at birth to show up. There are ways to accomplish pretty much whatever you want.

There are places for 2 names, The "Proper" first name and the commonly used one, called "preferred".  If it's more complicated than this, put an explanation in the biography.
