Hi Tony, I’ve sent you a PM.

I think I live very locally, I think your mum & dad are probably from The Wirral? Cited in records as Chester/Cheshire and Birkenhead. Also the links further back to North Wales I have in my own family. I too live on The Wirral. I’ll be happy to help you out in any way :-)

Lizzie
That's extremely kind of you lizzie. My mum was born in Chester 1953 & died in Birkenhead 2012
Cool, I think I can help you out, check your email for a message from me :-)

Possibly the mother of Joseph Anthony McHugh found here:

"England and Wales Census, 1901," database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XSX7-CGW : 8 April 2016), Joseph Mchugh in household of Elizabeth Mchugh, Saltney (Flint), Cheshire, England; from "1901 England, Scotland and Wales census," database and images, findmypast(http://www.findmypast.com : n.d.); citing Hawarden subdistrict, PRO RG 13, The National Archives, Kew, Surrey.

This shows a Joseph McHugh, born 1885 in Saltney, living in Saltney, working at the age of 16 as a Labourer. His mother, Elizabeth McHugh is listed as Head of the Household - age 56 born approximately 1845. She was born in Gateshead, Durham. No father is listed. There are 3 siblings, all born in Saltney - Philip (age 18), Edward (age 13), and Elizabeth (age 11).

There appears to be some validity to this, as the 1911 Census shows him with Caroline and his children and extended family:

"England and Wales Census, 1911," database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XW3X-QDZ : 2 August 2017), Joseph Mchugh, Chester, Saltney, Cheshire, England; from "1911 England and Wales census," database and images, findmypast (http://www.findmypast.com : n.d.); citing PRO RG 14, The National Archives of the UK, Kew, Surrey.

Elizabeth shows up on the 1911 Census with her son Edward and nephew Edward Regan

"England and Wales Census, 1911," database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X7JK-L3F : 3 August 2017), Elizabeth Mchugh in household of Edward Mchugh, East Saltney, Saltney, Flintshire, Wales; from "1911 England and Wales census," database and images, findmypast (http://www.findmypast.com : n.d.); citing PRO RG 14, The National Archives of the UK, Kew, Surrey.

Peculiar that she is now showing as from Cheshire, but since she was recorded as being in Cheshire in 1901, perhaps someone just carried over this information somehow. Her son is also now being shows as from the same (Cheshire).

Looks like parents should be Jacobi McHugh and Elizabeth Wright. Looking for more details, but it appears that some of Joseph's siblings had records that reflect these names.

I believe I have his death information:

"England, Cheshire Non-conformist Records, 1671-1900," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F3CM-36T : 7 December 2017), Jacobus Mc Hugh, 13 Jun 1900; citing 6, Chester, St Francis of Assissi Catholic Church, Chester, Cheshire, Record Office, Chester; FHL microfilm 2,068,141.

Thanks guys for all the info these are my ancestors from my Mum's side of the family which I've completed
I'm actually desperate for family info/details from my Dad's side of the family who came from Dublin Ireland

I noticed that you chose Cornelius Carroll of County Wicklow as your Great-Grandfather. I don't see any supporting facts for this, but I'll assume that there was something that led you to this.

His son (your Grandfather) is buried at Templeogue Cemetery in County Dublin. By this same theory that the families tended to be buried in the same location, there is a Cornelius Carroll buried there - born 1883 - died 8 April 1962. Wife Catherine Redmond, born 1888 - died 1962. While there is no direct evidence of their relationship, it seems very likely that this could be your Great-Grandfather. There are 3 siblings listed on Find-A-Grave that could be your G-G-Uncles and Aunts. Start with this record and take a look. We'll have to check other records for a match to prove it.

This has some interesting information on it related to his death in 1962.

Son Cornelius Carroll, living in Wellington Cottages. Seems that the elder Cornelius when he passed away was married at the time.

Possible 1901 Census record for this person:

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Tallagh/Tymon_North/1312573/

Father John Carroll - Mother Alice Carroll - Brother John Carroll. - Seems possible - family living in "House 5, Tymon North (Tallagh, Dublin.)

Appears it's worth checking out.
Thanks scott
