Mary and/or Lydia Wilbur wife of Christopher Horseman

+2 votes
Sometimes Christopher Hors(e)man's wife is said to be Mary Wilbur and sometimes to be Lydia Wilbur.

The Wilbur family are a reasonably well-documented New England family.

It is highly unlikely that Mary was born in Yorkshire if her parents are Benjamin Wilbur and Sarah Bush. Benjamin and Sarah were living in Rhode Island and their children were born and raised there, moving to New Brunswick with the evacuation of Loyalists after the American Revolution.

On the other hand, she may indeed have come from Yorkshire like her husband. Then she is unlikely to be the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah.

Possibly there are two wives, the first one, Mary, being part of the Yorkshire settlers, and the second one, Lydia, actually being a Wilbur. Or the other way around regarding who was first!

Does anyone have any evidence one way or the other on this topic?

PS - I adopted this profile just to be alerted regarding any activity on it, but there hasn't been much! It would be nice to be able to resolve this issue.
