I've just learned about my Werner ancestors and am not finding as much as hoped for. Aloysius worked as a book manufacturer at the Plimpton Press, Norwood, Mass. in 1933 and was also described as a bookbinder. Both he and his wife Mary (Bradley) came from New Brunswick, where they were married. Aloysius came from Woodstock NB and Mary came from Sussex NB. I think Aloysius (or maybe his father?) was born in Germany. Aloysius was born about 1881 and immigrated to America in 1900. He returned to New Brunswick to wed Mary Bradley and they moved to Norwood Mass. Daughter Maria (or Marie) Elizabeth Werner was born January 24, 1910 in Norwood Mass. Son John was a few years younger. Marie gave birth to a daughter in Boston, Mass. in 1931. I think she worked at Western Union. Looking for some genealogical info, and to connect with family.

Hello Laura,

like you I am trying to find information on my family history.  Your great grandfather,Aloysius or Alois , was my grandmother, Catherine's, older brother by 5 years , I believe. Their father, Alois Werner, was indeed born in Germany, immigrating in 1865.   According to what I can find your grandfather was born December 1882. I am intrigued that he immigrated to US.  He had an older brother, John James, who was a machinist like their father, but I found that he died of pneumonia in Lynn, Massachusetts when he was 26, in 1896.  He was about 10 years older than your grandfather.  Now my problem is finding more information on Catherine Holt.  I know her father in from New Brunswick and her mother is from Ireland but I do not know their names or any other information.  Maybe you have found something?
