Who was Samuel W Smith's father and mother?

Question

I am reasearching my grandmother , Mary K. Smith's line. I have her father as Leander W Smith and her grandfather as Samuel W Smith b. about 1827 in Tennessee. Samuel married Mary Madson. I don't know much more, except that these Smiths were supposed to have come from the Black Forest area in Germany. Does anyone have any of these Smiths in their line?  Be grateful for any help...no matter how small.
