ND, Otis Lord found dead beside the railroad tracks. Any help finding more information?

My grandmothers brother Otis D. Lord (b. 1912, Westminster, SC), was found dead "by the railroad tracks in North Dakota."  No date, no location for the event.  I have been searching records of train fatalities to try and find him.  Yes, and there is no reason to think he died because of a train.  Any one have any suggestions?  I would say between 1930 and 1970.  :-)  Mags
