I wanted to share this family photo of John Mann (1860-1950) and his wife, Hazel Gertrude Campbell (1876-1906) with the community. John was 43 and Hazel was 28.  John's mom and dad, Daniel Mann Jr. and Charity Sutton were at the wedding (documented) Location: Lambton, Ontario, Canada. Date: 27 Apr 1904.  It is not often that one comes across the wedding photo of a 3rd great uncle of Canada.  Unfortunately the marriage didn't last long as Aunt Hazel passed away two years later after giving birth.  Uncle John lived a long life and died a ninety.  His boy, William Baird Mann survived and married later.

A very beautiful couple, She is very pretty and what a wedding gown, veil and train. I bet she even has "something old something new, something borrowed and something blue". He is  a handsome man and I wish I looked that well all dressed up. A pocket watch ( I collected a couple) and his boutonniere, bow tie and shoes shined so well. Must have made them the talk of the town. I am sorry that it ended in tragedy. But this is a photo of their most wonderful  moment  together. A wonderful celebration I am sure. Thank you for showing the picture with us.

Jerry!

May I quote your comment on my personal  genealogy site at https://www.inthechickencoop.us?  Your words will accompany the photo on my Mann Family page.  I will link to your profile page or wherever you want.

It is a beautiful description complete with thoughts and memories combined.  I couldn't have matched that in a million years!

Indeed, I am fortunate to have the photo... plus your comment!

Best regards!

Scott
Scott I would be honored if you would include  my response to the beautiful couple. I do not ask anything for doing that. It is enough that you would consider my words to go with the picture. The honor of  a comment is overwhelming enough. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this picture and for including my thoughts. I am blessed just for meeting you and (the picture of) family members.
Okeedokee my friend!  I have uploaded the wedding photo with your description at https://www.inthechickencoop.us/trees/mann#jdmann.  Thanks a lot Jerry!  I appreciate it.  Scott

How sad for Hazel, but not uncommon.

This is a beautiful photo. Looks like John out his thumb in his pocket so everyone could see his watch chain and vest. Hazel is so lovely in this pic. Thanks for sharing it and the story, Scott.

Thank you so much for sharing this photo and the story.  This is a fabulous wedding photo.  Besides being proud about his wealth I think he may be feeling proud about a new young bride as well.

What a charming couple!  Hazel is wearing a gorgeous gown and John looks so formal.  It's too bad that they didn't have a long and happy life together.  Thank you for sharing this photo.
