problem with ask a question

i tried to ask a question with out anything in the category field. select a category showed up in the category field with out the down arrow. when i tried to click on the field all i got was a blue box around word my cursor was on.

It looks like you were able to select a category and ask this question. I think the blue box with the word you're talking about was the category.
