How do I add a child that was later adopted and so has the new father's name?

The child's LNAB (Last Name At Birth) should be whatever was on the birth certificate.  If the child's last name was changed as part of the adoption then enter that as the CLN (Current Last Name).

Ideally, after you have entered the information as Gaille has recommended, you would build the adoptee's genetic/biological tree from him upward, but at the very least you will probably want to connect him to his adoptive parents. You can do that by adding the template linked below to his biography.
