He was from New York, Dutchess County?

I did not see anything on Fold THree but you are welcome to look. It is free till Monday Midnight.

So here is one of the links I use when researching Revolutionary war stuff

http://www.americanwars.org/index.html

That is the home site and until you figure out how to Navigate there system it can be more that is a little confusing.

So below is a link to all the units for New York. looking through fold 3 I saw a lot of metions for Fields Regiment?

That would be the 3rd Dutchess County Malitia Reg.

Hope this helped, Good Luck & Good Hunting

There are 5 Barret's Listed in the 7th Duchess County Malitia, but they are all spelled with one t not two. Any of those names look like Uncles or Brothers?
Barret, Isaac, Jr.
Barret, Samuel
Barret, William
Barret, Isaac
Barret, Justus

Somehow this Samuel keeps coming up in this direct line

On wiki we have different parents than on find a grave however I believe find a grave is correct but needs some sources or research see his F.A.G. Link

The parents for him on Wiki are very uncertain

If there is something funky with the linage I would post something on G2G and see if they can not help you clear it up first.
