Looking to follow my Jones ancestors on my paternal side, especially Isaiah Joel Adams Jones, ie: parents, siblings, etc.

Arthur, have you created a profile for Isaiah? I couldn’t find him in your tree. If not, could you supply dates and places? I’m assuming Pennsylvania in the 1700s.
I haven't created a profile yet due to not having so much info. What I do know is he was born around Harrisburg, about 1747 he was in the revolution, married Jane Baskins about 1769. He moved to Addison, Steuben county NY and died 2/2/1821. I cannot find any real connection to any parents, hence the hesitation to add him to my family tree.

I'm pretty new to this so any help would be amazing, thanks.

Patronymic naming conventions are complex, in which children are identified by the name of their father. The terms ap (or "ab") and ferch (or "verch") are Welsh terms meaning "son of" or "daughter of," respectively, as in Madog ap Rhys and Gwenllian ferch Rhys. In Ireland, the "son of" patronymic is Mc and Mac.

I suggest you go to Familysearch.org to check ALL the information that is available

NOTE: I am passing this on for your information – I can only be guided by what is on that site, correct or not. Sources may/may not be available
