Is there a project that covers these pre-1700 people? Thomas Mudge-137 & Descendants

I want to help contribute to the deep genealogy on our shared tree, and I am currently working on the Mudge family, first noted date of arrival in Plymouth, Massachusetts Bay, in 1638.

1.) Geographical region and time period:   [Malden & Charleston, Massachusetts, 1638 to current]

2.) Some example names and dates:   [George Mudge (son of Thomas Mudge-137), b. 1656, m. Elizabeth Sheppie (aka Shippie) on May 27, 1673; and Elizabeth Mudge, their daughter, b. March 12, 1674, who married John Pierce (aka Peirce) on February 4, 1692 ]

3.) Source(s) for my information on them:   [One source of information includes a 426 pp. work entitled Memorials: Being A Genealogical, Biographical and Historial Account of the Name of Mudge in America from 1638 to 1868 by Alfred Mudge, published in 1868. Find online copy at:

https://search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=13968]

Before I get started adding and changing profiles, can you tell me if there is a WikiTree project that would cover these people? If so, how do I get in touch with the project members to coordinate and collaborate on the profiles? If not, please allow me to improve this WikiTree line of the Mudge family. I have my pre-1700 badge.

Thank you for your assistance. Rosa Lane-11194

Hi Rosa, your ancestors would fit into the Massachusetts project or if Thomas immigrated before 1640 into the Puritan Great Migration Project.

In general, feel free to update pre-1700 profiles that need proper sourcing and more information. Read what's already on the page first. Ask yourself: Does what I'm adding add value to the profile? Always, always source your updates/changes/facts/statements, preferably with primary sources. Before you make major changes (changes in relationships, or vital statistics) make sure you attempt to contact the profile managers. It's always polite to contact managers if you're going to do a major overhaul.

The goal at wikitree is to get the best sources available preferably primary sourcing.

If Mudges arrived in 1638, the immigrant family members are in the scope of the [[Project:Puritan Great Migration|Puritan Great Migration Project]]. That project relies heavily on the work of the NEHGS Great Migration Study project. The Great Migration Directory lists a Jarvis Mudge who arrived in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1638, but no Thomas Mudge. Jarvis Mudge has a profile at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Mudge-24
