Is there a project that covers these pre-1700 people? Leet, Leete

I want to help contribute to the deep genealogy on our shared tree.

1.) Geographical region and time period:   Early 1500s England- 1800s Virginia, Kentucky Etc...

2.) Some example names and dates:  John Leete (d. 1551), Robert Leete (d. 1597), Simeon Leete (b. 1573), William Leete (b 1607), Robert Leete (b. 1639)

3.) Source(s) for my information on them:   The Family of Leet (book)

Before I get started adding and changing profiles, can you tell me if there is a WikiTree project that would cover these people? If so, how do I get in touch with the project members to coordinate and collaborate on the profiles?

Please tag your question with England as it appears William Leete was born and died in England.   This way the project covering England can find you more readily.

Here is a link to the England project:

I don't know enough about projects to give you an authoritative answer to your question about  which projects would best be consulted about the Leete family (btw my wife is a descendant of this family) but as no one else has answered I will go ahead and suggest that you might consider consulting the England Project for the parts of the lines listed back there, and perhaps the Puritan Great Migration project and the Connecticut project for the first few generations of Governor Leete's descendants in the Guilford & New Haven areas.

"The Family of Leet" book, if I recall correctly, was published in 1881.  Some parts of the information, at  least with respect to the descendants in the new world, has been augmented and in some respects superseded by a later work, which you might want to have a look at also:

Leete, Edward Lorenzo,. "The descendants of William Leete, one of the founders of Guilford, Conn., president of the Federation of Colonies and Governor of New Haven and Connecticut colonies."  New Haven: Tuttle, Morehouse & Taylor, 1934

I have access to at least portions of both books, and if I can help you with any of the profiles you work on, let me know.

Awesome! Another Leete cousin! lol, there's quite a few.  I have The Family of Leete book, but not The Descendants of William Leete. I'll have to check in to that one, thanks!

Also, thanks for the suggestion, I added the England tag to my post. I only posted the question, because it said that it was required to be in a project, guess that's new,

And if you would like to check out any of the above listed profiles, and give your input, I would greatly appreciate it! I never say no to help lol.

Thanks again!

I would also like to add to the known Leete family tree, which is recorded as far back as 1398, though is missing a generation on this website. Individuals from this family are mentioned in the Letters Patent of King John, Henry III, and Edward I, as they had been knight-crusaders who were rewarded for their service with knighthoods and manorial estates in Cambridgeshire, where the family had been resident for many generations. They are mentioned in the Domesday Book, as 'thegns of Edward' (the Confessor).
