I am currently on a search to confirm Jeremiah "Jerry" Williams and Mary Ellen McGee are my direct ancestors along with who their parents are however I have found it hard to do so. The following information is all I have.

m. Mary Ellen McGee b. circa 1835 Pennsylvania or Virginia  d. unknown

Children:

1. Elizabeth b. Circa 1854 Kentucky

2. Emma Francis b. Nov. 22, 1858 Greenup, Kentucky

3. John b. Circa 1860 Kentucky

Emma Francis married in 1884 IN to George W. Burton  b. Feb. 19, 1856 Gallatin, KY divorced in 1904 IN

Children:

Myrtle M. March 23, 1886 IN d. Jan. 15, 1967 Martinsville, IN (buried in West Newton, Indianapolis) CONFIRMED Great Great Grandmother

Maude A. Sept. 12, 1890 IN

Jesse March 1894 IN

Paul March 1900 IN

Myrtle married  Sept. 28, 1904 in Washington, IN to Robert McKinney b. May 16, 1880 Washington, IN  d. April 1966 Brown Township, Martin, IN (buried West Newton, Indianapolis, IN)

I hope I haven't wrote this out confusingly. I just have been working on this for a few years now and seem to be getting nowhere. If anyone has any information pertaining to this family, it's be greatly appreciated if shared.

Thank you

Try this , sometimes working around the person can bring you back to them

"United States Census, 1850," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M8D9-NRC : 12 April 2016), Mary E Williams in household of Benjamin Williams, Frederick county, part of, Frederick, Virginia, United States; citing family 1031, NARA microfilm publication M432 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.)

Thank you for helping, but unfortunately this isn't the same Mary Ellen. Her maiden name was McGee (possible varying in spelling). Jeremiah would carry the surname Williams. Again, you were very helpful :-)
Duh! Sorry too early in the morning me thinks.
Its quite alright :-)

There is a high probability that this is him with his father and siblings, the mother appears to be deceased, in 1850. In 1900, his birthdate is listed as Sep 1830, so he wouldn't have turned 20 until after the date of most census records.
