Ruth or Rose Bond?

Question

Benjamin Colton (1722-1808) married a Rose/Ruth Bond on August 15, 1778 in Wilbraham, Hampden, Massachusetts, as his 2nd wife.

She is sometimes listed as Rose Bond or Ruth Bond or Mrs. Bond.  Don't know if Bond was a married name or birth name.  Sometimes they seem to be the same person and sometime separate.

I have a dob of 1738 but have also seen 1727.

Source information is sparse to say the least - the only primary source I have found is

The Massachusetts records are not digitized at FamilySearch, although they are extracted (as you know), but if you go to the FamilySearch catalog, and look up the film number, it will tell you what FHC has the microfilm. Hopefully, one is close to where you live.

This is a transcript,not an image, but it looks like Bond was probably a married name since she’s listed as a widow.

Can you find the child Rose with Rose and Benjamin?  Maybe on a marriage bond or record?  Or did Benjamin name her in a will?  That would be the  proof you need.  I think it’s highly likely that Rose Blashfield is the right woman, but I would at least note in the bio that she’s probable, not proven.
