Merge not merging?

I was trying to merge a couple of people (Bourgeois-182 and Bourgesois-1) as they are the same, I got the response that Bourgeois-182 was a "Bourgeois-182 is a redirected user, which cannot be merged." It is redirected to Bourgesois-1. What does this mean? And why is Bourgeois-182 redirected? Wouldn't it be better to have it merged?

"Redirected User" means that the profile has already been merged. You can look in the changes tab of Bourgesois-1 to see the hsitory of merges that have been done.

Then why do they show up as two different people on her husband's profile (Girouard-1950). It also does not say that there is a merge pending.

They seem to have merged properly except for showing up twice on her husbands' profile.  I might try to delete from the husband's profile, then look in the person search for both.

Were you manager or trusted list on both files?
