French translation and parents needed

Question

Can someone provide the correct spelling of the names on this marriage record?  Also any sources for Francois or Theotise - looking for parents and birth information for each.  The marriage says it was by Banns - can that provide more info?

E Martin, that's interesting that there is the same entry on two different dates - I wonder why the two entries?  Unfortunately it's the same witnesses so doesn't add to what we know about his parents (or lack thereof).

I did receive the translation (more clear on the Jan 20th entry).  Can you find Francois and Theotiste anywhere after the birth of Joseph Edmond in 1886?  I have had no luck in PEI or in Quebec.

Well this is a pretty thin marriage record, not even parents' names!

Francois Arsenault, bachelor, and Theotise Saulnier, spinster, married January 8, 1880 by banns. Witnesses John Arsenault & Marguerite Saulnier.

You can be married by license or banns - banns (declaration of intent to marry) were read in church for a set number of consecutive Sundays. If no one opposed the union, you got married. So, there might be a parish register somewhere??

Thank you both.  After you said it was John, Christine, I could see it!

Also E thank you for the family tree.  Even though it didn't have sources, it gave me the idea to see what families had both a Francois and John/Jean, thinking that a brother could have been the John who was listed.  There are three with children born with those names around that time in that area.  Also a Francois born to a John.  So 4 possibilities.  I documented them all and perhaps at some point an original record will show up that could help make the connection.
